Welcome to Paramotor Shop - the home for paramotoring

Paramotoring, or powered paragliding, is a sport which has been around for some time. Despite keeping a low profile, take-up of the sport is increasing at an amazing rate. In the UK, regulations on this type of flying are low, but knowing the effects of the elements and equipment, help paramotorists to get the most out of their time in the air, and help those wishing to limit their time on the ground.

This website is currently being updated with content, and will be officially launched in the near future. To help fund the website, we will also be selling new and used paramotoring equipment, including paramotors, wings, and various accessories.

We hope you enjoy the site, and welcome any contributions.

Thank-you

Paramotoring on North Beach

If you want to see paramotors in action, what better place than North Beach Heacham on the North Norfolk coast. With plenty of wind, and few obstacles, this has become a popular spot for paramotors taking in views of the sea from the air, while still enjoying the comfort of land!

Paramotoring gains ground...

With a lot more paragliding clubs recognising that not everyone has a mountain on their doorstep, many have turned to teaching paramotoring. Although strictly speaking there are no true regulations today for paramotoring, paragliding clubs are taking it upon themselves to ensure that people can understand the behaviour of a canopy before they take to the air, and then understanding how to live without a motor (such as in the event of an engine failure or lack of fuel).

Many classes today seem in my humble opinion very expensive without clear justification of value received. Perhaps the cost is simply to detract people from learning, or to cover the inconvenience of a paragliding club teaching paramotoring, I have yet to understand, but I hope that more places will offer training, and we will see a more competitive 'certification' programme, leading to trained 'pilots' taking to the air safely, and with a passion for aviation.

So what is the site all about?

So what is the site all about?

Well, I want to get into paramotoring. People tend to do it for a while, then give up, or store away the equipment for a not so rainy day.

I would like this site to grow to become a great source of information on paramotors, paramotoring events and  much more. (Its a hobby site, and not a large corporation!)

So why paramotorshop?

Its an easy name to remember. and I wanted people and clubs to post details of equipment for sale, exchange, or wanted, and use this site for doing so. We hope to gain revenue from google ads to pay towards hosting and admin costs

The site also contains a calendar to ensure people know what is goinig on and when, and  with articles from various contributors to ensure that people knew all elements of safety, can read equipment reviews, and see how regulations are changing.

By getting all Paramotor and paragliding clubs to register their details free, we can keep track of who is who, keep the sport competitive in pricing (as some people are charging what appears to be a premium without viisible rationale as to the reason), allowing others to join in and try this amazing experience.

If you are interested, register on the website, and we shall keep you posted with a newsletter (no fixed frequency yet) on how the site is developing, and any interesting new articles...
